The list of fine musicians joining the house band at The Great Gig In The Sky gets even longer; Vic Chesnutt committed suicide on Christmas Eve, and now legendary Australian guitarist/singer/songwriter Rowland S. Howard – famous for his work in ’80s post-punk legends The Birthday Party and his critically acclaimed solo record Teenage Snuff Film – has died of liver disease at the age of 50. The news follows days after Howard pulled out of a support slot for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on their Australian tour due to ill health.

ST. LOUIS — Justin Forsett set career highs with 130 yards and two touchdowns and the go-ahead score came on the Seattle Seahawks’ third defensive touchdown of the season in a 27-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

Seattle (4-7) had been 0-5 on the road but ended the drought against the Rams (1-10), who have lost 11 in a row at home.

Cult singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt died on Christmas Day, according to an announcement from his record label, Constellation Records.

“In the few short years that we knew him personally, Vic transformed our sense of what true character, grace and determination are all about. Our grief is inexpressible and Vic’s absence unfathomable,” the announcement said.
